In 2007, Asun Noales founded the company OtraDanza. The company's artistic practice is grounded in an ongoing exploration of visual and dramaturgical languages that seek to engage audiences on a profound emotional level, bringing artists and audiences into closer dialogue. OtraDanza / Asun Noales has toured across more than 25 countries spanning Europe, North and Latin America, Asia, and Africa, showcasing a diverse choreographic repertoire.
As a key cultural force, OtraDanza / Asun Noales organizes Abril en Danza, an established meeting point for artists and audiences in Alicante, Elche, and Murcia. From 2012 the festival fosters performances, training, international exchanges, and sector-focused activities such as panel discussions, networking events, and publications. Its itinerant format fosters a multidisciplinary creative flow, making OtraDanza / Asun Noales a key contributor to the region's cultural and social fabric, connecting dance with music, audiovisual arts, fine arts, and photography.
OtraDanza / Asun Noales has earned numerous awards, including:
Red Nacional de Teatro Recommendations, Premio Abril for Best Female Dancer in El gran banquete (2010), Guest Artist Award at SoloDos en Danza Barva (Costa Rica), presented within the International Choreography Certamen Burgos Nueva York (2013), Premio Estruch for Best Dance Production for Clandestino (2016) and multiple Premios de las Artes Escénicas Valencianas, including Best Dance Performance for Tierra (2008) and Llebeig (2009), Best Choreographic Direction and Best Dance Performance for Back (2009), Best Male and Female Dancer in Vigor Mortis (2020), and Best Dance Performance for Sempere (2024), which also entered the national Danza a Escena Circuit.
Moreover, Asun Noales has been recognized with several prestigious awards for her artistic work. Among them, the 2021 Max Award for Best Choreography and Best Dance Production (IVC production), Premio de las Artes Escénicas Valencianas 2021 for Best Choreographic Direction, and the APDCV Award for Best Creator for La Mort i la Donzella (2021). She has also received the Importantes Award from Diario Información (2022), the Miguel Hernández Award from the Alicante Provincial Council (2022), and the Ilicitanos en la Onda Award in the Arts category (2010).
