Neira & Santamaría Spanish Dance and Flamenco Company was founded in 2021 under the artistic direction of Teresa Neira and María Ángeles Santamaría, establishing its headquarters between Alicante and Murcia. The company emerged with the mission of revitalizing the heritage of Spanish folklore, flamenco, and Spanish dance from a contemporary and rigorous perspective.

After consolidating its presence with productions such as Tiempo Eterno and Versiones Flamencas, the company presents its third show, Atávicas. Mujeres de Lorca hacia la Libertad (Atavistic Women of Lorca Towards Freedom), which marks a decisive turning point in its artistic trajectory. In this production, Neira & Santamaría explore a bolder and more avant-garde stage language, integrating contemporary dance codes into the music, set design, and choreography. Through a dramaturgy inspired by Lorca, Atávicas delves into ancestral roots and feminine archetypes, reclaiming identity and freedom in the face of social repression. With this evolution, the company positions itself as an innovative voice capable of connecting tradition with the most current trends on the international scene.
