CÍA JACOB GÓMEZ

Meohadim, based between Valencia and Barcelona, was founded in 2019. That same year, the company presented its first full-length work at the Institut del Teatre Dance Award finalists' gala, where it received the Audience Award. A 15-minute version of the piece subsequently toured theatres across Catalonia, Valencia, Madrid and Portugal, while also being presented at several choreography competitions, where it received a number of awards.
In 2021, Meohadim was awarded a co-production with Tanz Bolzano and joined the Aliansat programme. There, the company developed the full 50-minute version of the work, which premiered at the Teatro Comunale di Bolzano (Italy).
The company's founder, dancer and choreographer Jacob Gómez, has performed with companies including IT Dansa (Barcelona), Theater Pforzheim (Germany), Theater Bielefeld (Germany) and the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company (Israel). Alongside his performing career, he has created choreographic works for both professional dancers and community ensembles.
In 2023, Meohadim received the Valencian Institute of Culture (IVC) Award for Best Dance Production, and the company is currently touring the work through the Danza a Escena network. Its production Rara Avis is also currently available for touring.
